Slow-to-Fast Earthquake Workshop in Taiwan

In the middle of March 2023, Slow-to-Fast Earthquake Workshop was held in Taiwan and I had a poster presentation “Impedance contrast in the Nankai subduction zone”.

It was an invaluable opportunity for both Taiwanese and Japanese researchers to discuss the geology, geophysics, and statistics of slow and fast earthquakes.

Prof. Kuo-Fong Ma took us to the MiDAS (Milun Fault Drilling and All-inclusive Sensing) in Hualien. This is a quite attractive research project and I really look forward to a collaborated study with Taiwan!

I’d like to thank the planning committee of “Taiwan Earthquake Research Center” and Grant-in-Aid for Transformative Research Areas (A) “Science of Slow-to-Fast Earthquakes”.

P.S. Travel photos were posted.
